Mariatu Kabba

Mariatu Kabba is a proven leader passionate about creating supportive communities and sustainable societies. She holds a B.A. in Mass Communication from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, and is pursuing a Master’s in Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University. She has been recognised as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Sierra Leone.

She was selected for the prestigious Hubert Humphrey Fellowship for Journalism and Communication at ASU, achieving a GPA of 3.75/4.00, and volunteered with the Welcome to America Project, Andre House, Chicanos Por La Causa, and the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation. She received the Outstanding Achiever Award from ASU and is a 2021 Mandela Washington Fellow (Rutgers University).

Mariatu is the founder and CEO of StudyGoal, a startup helping African students access global educational opportunities and financial support, and founder of Hope Pathways, a women- and girls’-empowerment nonprofit serving over 2,000 young women and girls across Sierra Leone. As a Journalism Mentor at BBC Media Action, Sierra Leone, she trained more than 200 local journalists, and she interned at the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights in Washington, D.C.
