Compassion in Action
Transforming workplace culture & elite talent retention in behavioral healthcare — the playbook for leaders who treat compassion as an operational lever, not a slogan.
Why this book
Compassion is a lever, not a slogan.
Alpha Muluh helps behavioral health leaders increase revenue generation through employee retention. Compassion in Action turns that idea into an operating system: Foundation, Culture, Growth, People, Purpose — each level built so the one above it can hold.
He has spent more than 23 years inside the behavioral and mental health field — from entry-level employee to leadership and ownership — across group homes, outpatient clinics, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, transitional and substance-use programs, and community resource programs. Dayshift, nightshift, 12- and 16-hour shifts, and, believe it or not, many 24-hour shifts. As an employee. As an employer.
Written from the floor
Every framework has a scar.
He resuscitated members seconds from overdose. He was on the floor during a brawl with chairs and plates flying like frisbees. He broke down a bathroom door and then told a family he had found their loved one dead. He managed an employee who showed up on his day off with a gun.
Every painful and joyful experience shaped the frameworks in this book.
Inside the book
Four frameworks leaders can run with their teams.
